Looking at doing a 451 build. I got insight that shelf parts can be used to keep parts cost down. For example shelf pistons, shelf rods 400/440. Factory heads.

Shelf pistons yes, stock no. Stock rods, turned mains on a 440 crank....the rest is whatever you want

Looking at something in the compression range of 10-1 , 9-1 would be better . Got piston in mind ?
