Has anyone ever had a block crack for what ever reason at the bottom of block at bottom of freeze plug all the way back. The engine is a 511ci.

Have seen a few- by the freeze plug is the most common

Anything I Can do to stop this other than buy a after market block?

Hard block and aluminum main caps will help, but there is a limit on what factory blocks will take- more info on what you are doing would help

I race NSS i have a 65 cornet with a 512 a 4.30 gear . 440 block , 4.25 stroke h -beams and flat tops . B1 Bs heads with no port work sending out too get max wedge port and port work.Cam 280-284 @50 .682 .682 lift. with rockers on there now its around .720 lift. car will go 10.50 shifting at 6200rpm. Also run STR intake with two 750s. Thanks Lou Attachments:
