I'm seeing some axle shafts coming up on eBay that appear to me to be a new variety...
I would conclude that they're chinese, but that might not be all bad. Sellers state that they're stronger than original 8¾ axles.
One thing about them is that they're splined for something like five inches. This means they can be cut to suit a variety of sizes.
Has anyone tried these yet? Are they as good as claimed (a tough one to check out, obviously)?
Pricing is good, I've seen some at $219 the pair.

Just can't bring myself to use rear end parts made in China....just had way too many things from there turn out to be junk. I won't be in line to test these.

Yeah, I can understand that...
I finished up continuing with a guy up in Spokane, my need was for some axles with 4.5" PCD (full size car stud pattern and brakes, ie. C-body stuff) to be cut down and resplined to fit an A-body.
My man in Spokane finally came through for me, I'd been having a lot of trouble contacting him for months. But the three pairs of axles I ordered from him are here now and look just great.
Along the way I spoke to another guy, from whom I bought some bits, he told me he'd had axles shortened by my Spokane friend and they had held up well in a fairly serious drag car.
So no need to buy Chinese... at this stage...

I have used the yukons in a couple fairly powerful rides- they go for 185-250 a pair depending on where from
